SPONSOR A CHILD PARTNESHIP PROGRAM

KICAFODE has now expanded to Nine parishes in rural areas to help orphans and vulnerable children

where local people have very limited resources to meet the needs of children.

One of KICAFODE’s main objectives is to be able to meet our commitment to the children
in the centre of looking after them until they are in a position to support them selves.
This means that we have an obligation to generate sufficient reserves to meet the funding
requirements needed to maintain the centre and look after the welfare of the children.

To enable us to provide services for these vulnerable, KICAFODE has started an Adopt a child partnership program. This provides an opportunity for those interested in supporting this work to take financial responsibility for one or more children. In most of our centers $ 1 per day, or 30 per month,

will provide all the cost associated with caring for the child who are in the centre each month.

Covering food, basic medical care, water, electricity, clothing, and school fees.

The cost of sponsoring a child is 156 euros per year or 13 euros per month.

Your donation will provide the following:-

  • School fees for the year
  • Uniform/ sportswear/ sweater/ socks
  • Breakfast and lunch in school for the year
  • Stationary in school
  • Sanitary items, i.e. toilet paper, brush etc.

 The problem

Orphans may be the first to be denied education when families cannot afford to educate all the children of the household. Orphans and Vulnerable children, including those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, abandoned, physically, child parents, street children, sexually and mentally abused and children who come from single parent families who  are traumatized with fears associated with going through long painful periods of illness, facing stigma and the frustration of not meeting their ambitions,  are placed in our centers where they are provided with care, including  Feeding,  Health and sanitation ,  Vocational trainings  and life skills,  Emotional/psychosocial support, counseling, Recreations, Religious support, Scholastic materials, beddings, utensils, transport to health units, a roof over their head and Education  that work as a safety net in the Childs life.

In Uganda there are many children living with HIV/AIDS. The number of infected children in Uganda continues to grow. The majority of infected and affected children have no access to care. Most Children contracted HIV from their mothers (Mother to Child Transmission MTC)

We cannot ignore the plight of these children any more. It is time to accept our responsibility as a caring community and work to make a positive change in the lives of children

Every child in Uganda has the right to education, Health, equality and protection
